Ο Mark Mazower σπούδασε στην Οξφόρδη και στο John Hopkins. Δίδαξε στο Πρίνστον, το Σάσσεξ και το Birckbeck College και σήμερα είναι καθηγητής ιστορίας στο πανεπιστήμιο Columbia.
